Saturday night sees the conclusion of the first week back of the
MODUS Super Series and the start of a new cycle with Week One seeing six players battling it out for £5,000 and a spot at Champions Week with more money on offer.
Each cycle of the MODUS Super Series consists of thirteen weeks. Each week a new competition begins and the twelve weekly winners meet in the thirteenth week of play. Six finalists emerge from three different groups, so Saturday night they will compete for the title during the fifth season of the MODUS Super Series.
Luke Littler won the last MODUS Super Series title and the first player who will be in the next Champions Week will be set tonight.
In Group A, it was Matt Clark that finished top with 'Superman' winning 10 matches and losing five.
Mike Warburton got a spot in the end through Group B but his slow start cost him in Group A.
Warburton put it right though sealing Group B with
Mark Dudbridge finishing runner up.
Wayne Jones and Sam Cankett then had to battle it out for the third and final spot from Group B and it was 'The Wanderer' who claimed it.
From Group C, it was 'The Gun' Tommy Morris who found his way through alongside a well known face to the MODUS tournaments in Jamie Kelling.
The six finalists will be divided Saturday night into two groups of three players each. A mini-group will be played, with the numbers one and two of each pool advancing to the semifinals. From then on, the tournament will be completed in a knockout format.
