The World Cup of Darts starts tomorrow with the 2018 edition of the tournament but it has produced some brilliant moments in the history of it since 2010 which we will look back on today thanks to the PDC who have collated the list.

The first biggest moment in World Cup of Darts history came back at the inaugural tournament where Spain produced the first shock. They defeated the English pairing of Phil Taylor & James Wade with a 107 average. Spain did go on to reach the semi finals before losing to the Netherlands but it still stands out as setting the tone for future shocks. The second moment came from last year where Singapore defeated Scotland. Wright and Anderson like this year are one of the favorites due to their seeding but got stunned by the pair of Paul Lim and Harith Lim. Paul a legend in the sport in his own right took out 100 to roll back the years and produce the start of a brilliant run. The third one is probably one of the best finals in the history of the World Cup with Australia’s pairing of Simon Whitlock and Paul Nicholson missing out on defeating England in a tense finale to the 2012 tournament with all players missing stacks of darts. Lewis finally pinned the double to break the hearts of the Aussies. The fourth one also included the Australian pairing with it coming earlier in the Quarter-Finals back in 2015. Ronny Huybrechts, of Belgium pinned the bullseye with his last dart in another tense conclusion for Australia and ultimately more Aussie heartbreak. The Final moment came in the form of two nine darter attempts back in 2016; Australia went close to the first holy grail to miss out with the same occurring for the Dutch side. The Netherlands came through but went on later in the tournament to lose to England in the final.
