Aleksandr Oreshkin qualified for the
PDC World Darts Championship through the Russian Qualifier on Sunday.
The eccentric Russian beat his fellow World Cup teammate Boris Koltsov in the finale 3-1 in sets. Oreshkin made his debut at the PDC World Championship in 2016 defeating Paul Lim who is also once again taking part again after also winning through a qualifier in the preliminary in a sudden death leg and started his first round contest really well against Mervyn King. The St. Petersburg darter went 2-0 up in sets, but ended up losing 3-2 to 'The King'.
This year, Oreshkin and team mate Koltsov impressed at the World Cup of Darts. Together they won 4-0 in the deciding doubles match against Simon Whitlock and Kyle Anderson. Then they lost in the quarterfinals to eventual runners up Wales.
