Andy Hamilton will not be entering 2018 Q-School and will be going ‘back to basics’

Andy Hamilton, a former 5 time major finalist has made an announcement about his future. ‘The Hammer’ announced yesterday that after taking time to think about his career options after dropping out of the PDC’s top 64 that he will not be going to Q-School this year to the surprise of many.
Hamilton instead will compete in open’s as well as switching to the BDO and trying his hand at the Riley’s UK Open qualifiers this month in order to regain some of the form that saw him reach those major finals.
He will then return to the PDC in 2019 attempting Q-School then as Hamilton sees it as taking one step back to move two steps forward.

- I dont like individuals or crowds trying to put any player off when they are trying to check out, how anyone can think its okay for the crowd to whistle or shout as someone is throwing for a double is beyond me but it does seem to have become part and parcel of the modern game. I no longer play now, darts is as good as dead at a local level round my way but when i did play many years ago, no matter how intense the rivalry you never shouted out or whistled when an opponent from the other team was throwing for a double.Mysstree17-11-2024

If you want to see crowd passion... watch a match when German and Dutch players face off... that can be just as bad if not worse for crowd noises.
