Clayton and Chisnall impress to kick off afternoon session in Hasselt

Jonny Clayton continued his brilliant form as of late which included him winning a Pro Tour title for the first time as he smashed through Dimitri van den Bergh with the performance of the tournament so far.'The Ferret' averaged 103 and hit four 180's to knock out the last remaining Belgian and progress to Round 2.
He was joined by Dave Chisnall who dispatched Cristo Reyes with a 99 average also in a 6-1 win. 'Chizzy' executed some brilliant finishing including a 138 checkout as he searches for his first major tournament win in Hasselt and he definitely showed his credentials with that win.

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
