Van de Pas survives a scare and clinical Gurney eases past Beaton

In an all-dutch battle between Benito van de Pas and Vincent van der Voort, it was 'Big Ben' who came out on top despite two match darts from van der Voort but BvdP moves on through to the second round in Hasselt for the first time after previously going out in the past two years in Round 1 and he will play either Michael Smith or Nathan Aspinall who play later in the session.
Daryl Gurney is also through and will play either Stephen Bunting or Joe Cullen tomorrow in Round 2. He was broken by his opponent Steve Beaton in leg 1 but 5 legs on the spin meant that he eased through to the next round and continues a brilliant year for the World Grand Prix champion.
