Rob Cross lost out to Michael van Gerwen in the final of the European Darts Open with 8-6 but admitted that he's only going to get stronger.
Van Gerwen immediately opened with a 170 finish in the final, but fell behind Cross after seven legs. The number one in the world recovered via double 4. Till 6-6 they stayed in balance, then Van Gerwen cast a 13-darter and a 78 finish for the final victory. "I feel brilliant at the moment, and I only feel that I'm going to get stronger," said Cross. "I really enjoyed that final too and it's nice to be playing well again in front of a great crowd. After three lost finales a Euro Tour title is still missing on the Englishman's record. This weekend the number two of the world will get another chance when the German Darts Championship is on the program. "I'm going to push Michael every week, he's the best in the world for a reason but I'm not going to stop until I get a piece of him."
