Rob Cross reached a second consecutive World Series final on Saturday in Shanghai after also reaching the final in Las Vegas last week but the outcome was the same and that was a loss.
This time it was Michael Smith who saw off Cross and after the loss ‘Voltage’ admitted he deservedly won and that he was useless. Although he admits that he says he is feeling happy with his game but there was just not anything left in the tank.
“In fairness, Michael deserved that – I was useless. At the same time, I can’t be disappointed… I felt knackered when I started and come the final I just didn’t have the energy left, I thought I was lucky to hit the dartboard – but fair play to Michael,” said the 27-year-old.
Cross added: “I'm feeling happy with my game at the moment, but today was just about having no energy – there just wasn’t enough there to carry me through.”
