Phillips himself went out early doors which as a result meant there would be a new winner. As ‘The Dude’ said in his interview below, he could of lost earlier on with close fought wins over Lewis Gurney and Keelan Kay.
It was Dudeney that claimed the title though avenging a final defeat he suffered at the last event in Derby. He spoke afterwards admitting he was chuffed to get the win.
“I’m chuffed, I made the final last year and this year I just wanted to go one better this time.
“I could’ve lost in an earlier round, I had a tough semi-final against Keelan Kay and then played Freddie (Francis) in the final. Thankfully I was able to kick on a get the win.”
