Glen Durrant made a perfect start at the BDO World Trophy, where he aims for a maiden title in Preston. 'Duzza' comfortably beat Dafydd Edwards 6-2, while averaging nearly hundred.

The two-time Lakeside champion kicked off with 15, 13 and 10-dart legs to take a 3-0 lead. His level dropped a bit after that, but his victory was not in danger. Durrant will meet Tony O'Shea in the second round, as 'Silverback' trashed Jeffrey Sparidaans 6-1.
Richie Edwards reached the last sixteen round after overcoming Willem Mandigers 6-3. Lisa Ashton didn't drop a leg against Corrine Hammond and booked a 4-0 victory.
