Harms & Ashton win West-Fries Open titles

The West Fries Open was played this past weekend. Wesley Harms and Lisa Ashton ended up champions with Ashton carrying on from her brilliant form exhibited at the Isle of Man Festival of Darts recently.

Wesley Harms en Mark McGeeney én Ross Montgomery en Daniel Day.">For the men, the semi-finals were between Wesley Harms and Mark McGeeney and Ross Montgomery and Daniel Day. Harms and McGeeney went to the wire while for Montgomery it was a lot easier. Then the final went the way of 'Sparky' who won the West-Fries Open 3-1.
Lisa Ashton defeated Aileen de Graaf in the semi-finals of the ladies tournament. She won 4-0. Sharon Prins was in the other semi-final. She played against Deta Hedman and won 4-1. In the finals, however, Prins was unable follow that up. Ashton defeated the Dutchman 5-2.
On the Saturday the youth tournament was played. Jurjen van der Velde was crowned champion, after he defeated Ramon Leferink in the final 4-1. In the girls it was Romy Vermeulen who was the winner.
Later on that same Saturday, the pairs tournament was also contested. Danny Merlijn and Koen den Hartog were the winners on the men's side. Among the ladies, the win went to the duo Sharon Prins / Aileen de Graaf. They managed to defeat Anca Zijlstra and Femke Herms in the final match.
