The first is Michael Smith vs James Wade with 'The Machine' having the better of the last two meetings by
8-2 and
8-6 in two
Players Championship finals in the past two weeks.
Smith came through against practice partner Ian White in a 6-4 victory which saw 'Diamond' average 101 to Smith's 99.9 but it still wasn't enough for the Stoke-on-Trent ace.
Wade put in a usual performance where he averaged less than his opponent but came through with ease against Jonny Clayton who despite the loss continues to put in consistent runs to begin the year including his title win last weekend.
John Henderson came through and is involved in the second semi-final but only just against Danny Noppert in a 6-5 win for 'Hendo'.
He will face fellow Premier League contender Jeffrey de Zwaan who is back in the latter stages in the Players Championship series after seeing off Glen Durrant 6-3 with a 102 average.
