Jerry Hendriks, the World Championship favourite from last year, has not been able to qualify for the World Championship for the second year in a row. 'Electric' lost 6-5 to Brian Raman in the second round of the qualifying tournament.
The 29-year-old Dutchman did not win a Tour Card at the Q-School at the beginning of this year, making it a seemingly impossible task for him to gather a lot of pounds for the various rankings.
On his Facebook page, Hendriks reports that he will do everything to make a great start to the 2018 season and regain his Tour Card.
The former youth world champion at the WDF grew into a cult like following at the PDC World Darts Championship last year. Hendriks stole the hearts of many fans with his enthusiastic walk on to the song 'Freed from Desire' which was used for the qualifiers. Even PDC chairman Barry Hearn indicated that he had enjoyed Hendriks.
