After the World Championships have been upgraded to 96 players, 32 will come from the Pro Tour now and Paul Nicholson, Wayne Jones & Kirk Shepherd could be in line for returns alongside the slew of debutants.

Nicholson hasn’t appeared in the World Championship for a few years but has started to appear on TV and European Tours a lot more regularly showing ‘The Asset’ to be returning to some form.
There could even be spots through this route for Michael Barnard who is the Challenge Tour leader but has been a mainstay on the Pro Tour due to this. Also further down there could still be time for Cameron Menzies to sneak in for a debut.
In terms of other debutants, Danny Noppert, Ryan Joyce and Gabriel Clemens who have all been on form this season look very likely to be at the Alexandra Palace. Corey Cadby who hasn’t been on the tour for 3 months will still probably pick up a place as well.
This route will mean that those who just miss out usually will now be rewarded and there will also be more fight to do well on the Pro Tour due to the added spaces.
