O’Connor sees off Meeuwisse in second consecutive straight sets win in afternoon session

William O’Connor is through to the next round of the PDC World Darts Championship with a straight sets win over Yordi Meeuwisse.

O’Connor averaged 87 on his way to victory with a high checkout of 107 which gave him the win. His next round assignment is James Wilson and he will be looking to continue his good form. ‘The Magpie’ took the first set three-one despite the Dutchman hitting a 133 checkout to get on the board. It wasn’t as easy for him in the following set with ‘Magic’ taking him to a deciding leg. Despite that though he held his nerve in winning the second set in that decider. It went all the way in the following set as well with the Irishman having to hit a big finish to claim the win.
