William O'Connor has claimed his maiden PDC ranking title by defeating UK Open champion Nathan Aspinall at Players Championship 13 in Barnsley as he becomes the latest first time winner.

O'Connor who has threatened to go far in tournaments in the past twelve months has gone even better by winning £10,000 in valuable ranking money to cap off an excellent day.
The pair began the final by exchanging breaks of throw but as soon as O'Connor went ahead at 3-2 up, he never looked back. 'The Magpie' began to build his lead and then went two clear at 5-3.
With it being his first time in a final, you'd think nerves would set in but they didn't with him only losing one more leg on his way to a brilliant victory.
