PDC world number two Peter Wright has found himself in hot water.

After Michael van Gerwen's early exit from the PDC World Matchplay, Snakebite offered some thoughts. Wright, who reached the semi-finals, said: “Michael [Van Gerwen] is not a great player, he’s a good player."
The Scot later added that Phil Taylor was "a much tougher opponent than Michael van Gerwen, easily."
The comments caused a stir, with supporters of the world number one criticising a perceived slight by Wright. But the 2017 UK Open champion has offered a clarification of his comments on Twitter.
Wright tweeted: "OK, to clarify, the great darts players as mentioned in my interview. After getting negative comments.
"Great players, when I was growing up was [sic] Jocky Wilson, John Lowe, Eric Bristow, Phil Taylor. They no longer complete [sic] today which was what I was trying to say.
"I rest my case."
