Players Championship 13 Results, Last 32: Gurney smashes Van der Voort, Van Barneveld continues run with victory over Rafferty

We are into the Last 16 stage at Players Championship 13 with the likes of Daryl Gurney, Raymond van Barneveld, Peter Wright and Adrian Lewis all still involved in Barnsley.
Gurney was one of the first players through with an impressive demolition of the 'Dutch Destroyer' Vincent Van Der Voort, he averaged 105 as he claimed a 6-1 win to continue his form as of late.
Speaking of form, Raymond van Barneveld has endured an excellent few days rolling back the years in Saarbrucken being the highlight and he has continued that with a 103 average in seeing off youngster Nathan Rafferty.
Adrian Lewis was also among the winners himself impressing against Glen Durrant averaging 104 in a 6-4 win over the 3 time Lakeside Champion. Ricky Evans and Steve Beaton have also been excellent in the past few weeks and they continue that with another run to the latter stages.

- As prize money increases each year and there are now more tournaments then logically breaking the £2 million barrier is going to happen, only thing preventing it is the now deeper strength in depth of the darting field. If you took Taylor’s best two consecutive years and substituted the prize money from now onto the tournaments he won he would have passed the £2 million.Mysstree26-11-2024
