Results first round Players Championship 17: Preston edges out Lewis, Van der Voort misses nine-dart finish

Adrian Lewis was edged out by Simon Preston, while Terry Temple beat Stephen Bunting to progress into the second round of Players Championship 17. Former UK Open finalist Vincent van der Voort booked a 6-1 win over Arron Monk. The Dutchman missed double 12 to hit a nine-dart finish in the fifth leg of his game.
Martin Schindler stunned with a 6-0 victory over Mario Robbe. The German produced a sensational 107 average against the 'Dutch Robot'.
