Rusty-Jake Rodriguez and Owen Roelofs will contest the
JDC’s World Junior Darts Championship final at Alexandra Palace in a few weeks time during the William Hill World Darts Championship after coming through yesterday at the headquarters of the organisation ran by Steve Brown.
Rodriguez defeated Jarred Cole, the Hertfordshire ace who recently signed with Target Darts. They were neck and neck until RJ-Rod pulled away after it became 3-2 and as a result he won 5-2 to set up the final. RJ-Rod of course comes from a long line of brothers who play darts and has previously played on the Euro Tour so won't be as phased by the proposition of playing on the Alexandra Palace stage and has to really start the favourite.
The other Semi-Finals was contested by the two young Dutch-stars in Owen Roelofs and Daan Bastiaansen. It was neck and neck up until the final leg when Roelofs hit a maximum which allowed him to get over the line and win through in an organisation that just seems to be getting better and better with Michael van Gerwen seeing the potential and becoming a director as a result.
