Steve Beaton squeezes through and Jonny Clayton through to first major Quarter-Final

Steve Beaton squeezed into only his 2nd TV major quarter-final since 2010 with a 10-9 victory over Jermaine Wattimena. 'The Bronzed Adonis' had a 87 average which was the same for his opponent and had to win in a decider after Wattimena fought back from 9-5 down and Beaton missed 8 match darts before he finally got over the winning line.
Over on Board 2, Jonny Clayton will face Steve Beaton after he won through to his first Major Quarter-Final after a brilliant year for the Welshman. He defeated a resurgent Stephen Bunting 10-8 after defeating Gerwyn Price earlier today.
