Michael van Gerwen cruised into the Quarter-Finals as expected in Minehead. He hasn't lost on ITV in over 3 years in this tournament and that run won't be stopping here as he defeated Darren Webster 10-5.
Webster who famously took 6 legs off Van Gerwen in a row last year before losing 11-8 couldn't take his chances and like many couldn't live with the World Number 1 in stages and it seems like it will take a monumental effort from someone like Rob Cross or Daryl Gurney to dethrone the World Number 1.
On Board 2, James Wade grabbed an important win and a Quarter-Final tomorrow with Rob Cross. He brushed aside Ian White with his brilliant checkouts at the right time to win 10-6 against 'The Diamond' to potentially add some light to a year that has not been the best for the former multiple time major champion.
