Tony O'Shea will transfer from the BDO to the
PDC in January. 'Silverback' joins a
Q-School line up already including Colin Lloyd and Martin Atkins in an attempt to win a Tour Card for the next two seasons. Tony Martin, the husband of Anastasia Dobromyslova and a well known player in his own right, announced this news on the darts forum The Stars of Darts. O'Shea missed participation in Lakeside this year after finishing the BDO season at 55th place. That was not enough to qualify for the main BDO tournament, as only the top-26 are eligible. The qualifying tournament also did not offer a solution for the audience favourite, where O'Shea lost in the last 64 to Alan Soutar. So as a result there was an end to a long series of participation in the most important tournament in the BDO. From 2002, the Englishman was an ever present at Frimley Green. Three times O'Shea reached the final, but never managed to win the tournament. During the last four editions, the seven-time major-finalist always lost in the first round.
