Van der Voort defeats Van Gerwen and wins tournament in Hannover

Vincent van der Voort claimed an exhibition win this past weekend seeing off Michael van Gerwen en route in Hannover.
Van der Voort came through his first test and then faced Van Gerwen streaking in front only to be pegged back. Despite that, he came through to claim the win and moved through to a final with Ian White. 'The Diamond' defeated two German players and then faced 'The Dutch Destroyer' in the final. This went to a decider and it was the Dutchman who came out on top.

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
