BERLIN VANGERWEN1

Michael van Gerwen started today's afternoon session of the European Darts Open with a 6-3 victory over Alan Norris and will face Simon Whitlock in the Quarter-Finals who breezed past Dave Chisnall 6-1.

'Mighty Mike' and 'Chuck' put on a good match to start the session with Norris seemingly back towards his top form again after problems with injury and form recently. Van Gerwen though like he usually does pulled away and ended with a 105 average.
Whitlock will play Van Gerwen and he battled past Dave Chisnall and like against Tytus Kanik it was brilliant finishing including a 170 checkout as well as at times brilliant scoring that got 'The Wizard' through. This is despite him being riddled with flu so he played brilliantly considering.
