White smashes Van Gerwen, will face Smith who comes through last leg decider with King

Ian White has done darting deja vu in Saarbrucken with 'The Diamond' dumping out Michael van Gerwen for the second year running in this competition. It blows the competition wide open with a new European Tour winner for this year guaranteed.

It was a sensational victory for the Stoke ace who hit a 106 average and took his chances against 'Mighty Mike' including a 157 checkout to knock out the World Number One.
White will face Michael Smith who is after a fifth European Tour title, he defeated Mervyn King with a 99.52 average and eight 180's as he went on the verge of his 180 record. He also survived one match dart in a tussle of a match between the pair
