Simon Whitlock lost out yesterday to Mensur Suljovic in the final of the Danish Darts Open in a return to the latter stages of a European Tour for the first time in a while for the Australian star.
Whitlock spoke afterwards and while he came up short he was over the moon to have made the final in Copenhagen. He lauded praise on his opponent saying that he was the best player of the weekend and that he was proud of him. “It’s a shame I came up just short but I’m over the moon to have made the final,” said The Wizard. “Congratulations to Mensur, he was the best player of the weekend – I’m proud of him and I’m proud to have played in such a great tournament in Copenhagen.”
