Whitlock, Barnard and Murschell among players to lose in first round in every Players Championship event so far

Simon Whitlock, Michael Barnard and Dawson Murschell are among the players to lose in the first round of every Players Championship event of the year so far.
Whitlock has had a poor start to the year since his Premier League exclusion and this continues on the Pro Tour.
Barnard was one of the leading lights of the Pro Tour yet but hasn’t found his form as of yet this year as a full Tour Card holder.
Among the other players having the same start include Richard North, Dave Pallett and Mike van Duivenbode.
The only player not a Tour Card holder in this list is Shaun Carroll who won a Challenge Tour earlier this year.

- Maybe the supposed top players are burnt out from the endless travelling and tournaments, I just don't think they have the dedication or outright desire to win. I think they are more interested in the money and being popular, just keeping their rankings steady. The only thing that mattered to Phil Taylor was winning, not winning a few games to top up the money pot and seeking the fans attention. Maybe there is too many tournaments now and the enthusiasm is gone. This year especially has seen so many different winners and unexpected draws and line ups.richieburnettrocks14-11-2024
