It has been revealed that the PDC World Darts Championship Final to take place on New Years Day will be the first since 1983 to include two players under 30.

Those two players are of course Michael Smith and Michael van Gerwen and they will be the first since Eric Bristow who was 26 and Keith Deller who was 23.
Like Matthew Porter, Chief Executive of the PDC said it is a present for Rod Harrington who has seen the PDC’s youth system grow up to this point.
