The World Matchplay has had a big impact on its fellow PDC major, the World Grand Prix.

Gary Anderson's triumph in Blackpool means that he has now secured a top four spot on the World Grand Prix Order of Merit. He joins Rob Cross, Peter Wright and Michael van Gerwen as the top seeds. The Order of Merit and Pro Tour top 12 haven't changed much at all following the Matchplay, but the race to Dublin is hotting up for players on the precipice.
One unlikely winner after the Winter Gardens action is Danny Noppert. Good runs for Darren Webster and Joe Cullen, plus a first round win for Adrian Lewis, dumps Alan Norris out of the top 16. That means that Noppert, placed 16th in the ProTour Order of Merit standings, has a provisional spot.
Jeffrey de Zwaan's run to the semi-finals puts him in a good position to head to Dublin. But early exits haven't done much to help Kim Huybrechts or Jelle Klaasen.
