The World Grand Prix may be a while away yet but there could be a lot of debutants at the Citywest in early October. Daryl Gurney of course will be looking to retain his title while for Michael van Gerwen he will be wanting to avoid another early defeat after losing John Henderson last year with the Highlander reaching the semi-finals in turn.

In the projected rankings ahead of the event despite his down turn in form, Adrian Lewis will be at the event as the number one on the ProTour Order of Merit table and so won't be missing out on the World Grand Prix.
A few of the players that could be making debuts in Dublin include Jeffrey de Zwaan, the Black Cobra has had a great half a year or so reaching two ProTour finals. As well as defeating Michael van Gerwen at the UK Open.
Other form players from the ProTour tournaments who could make debuts are Corey Cadby and Krzysztof Ratajski. Cadby has had a great start to his time as a full time tour card holder winning an event. As well he reached the UK Open final and could be up there in the betting if he makes the Citywest. Ratajski similarly has won an event but can only add money to his ranking through the Euro Tour as he doesn't hold a tour card.
Ron Meulenkamp, Chris Dobey and Jermaine Wattimena are among other players who are slated to make their debuts showing their prowess in the floor events.
