Peter Wright took revenge for his loss against
Glen Durrant in the group stage of the
Grand Slam of Darts. The Scotsman beat the Lakeside champion 16-10 in the quarter-finals of the cross-code tournament in Wolverhampton.
'Duzza' levelled in sixth leg by hitting double 4, before Wright won nine of the next ten legs to take a 12-4 lead. With the aid of a 124 check-out and a 77 finish, Durrant managed to reduce the deficit to 14-9.
'Snakebite' hit double 4 to to move a leg away from the win. Durrant provided the highlight of the match in the 25th leg of the game, by missing double 12 for a nine-dart finish. However, the Lakeside champion hit a 10-dart leg to win his tenth leg. After the fifth interruption, Wright ended the game as he hit a 15-dart leg to win the match.
