2022 Grand Slam of Darts in numbers: Tournament average, 180’s and checkout percentage

Last weekend, the sixteenth edition of the Grand Slam of Darts was played. This tournament was eventually won by Michael Smith, who beat Nathan Aspinall 16-5 in the final match. The event was summed up in numbers by statistician Philipp Wolff.

A total of 63 matches were played. No fewer than 24 times an average of over 100 was recorded, while the tournament average stood at 95.17. However, the level in the knockout phase (97.46) was a lot higher than the level in the group stage (93.15).

In total, 435 171+ scores were thrown, of which no fewer than 402 were the maximum 180 score. The overall finishing percentage was 38.81 per cent, while 69 finishes of 100 or more were thrown, of which 170 was the highest. This checkout was thrown by Luke Woodhouse and Joe Cullen.
