Michael Smith threw the highest average of the tournament at Players Championship 9 on Monday. 'Bullyboy' threw an average of 109.91 in his quarterfinal against Luke Woodhouse (6-3).
Smith eventually managed to win the tournament by defeating Ryan Joyce 8-6 in the final. Earlier in the day, Smith had also thrown a 106.04 average, by the way. Raymond van Barneveld also showed excellent form with an average of 107.47 in his duel against Nathan Rafferty (6-1).
Dave Chisnall threw averages of 107.23 and 105.21, while there were a total of five players who managed to throw a 105+ average. Chris Dobey (105.25) and Danny van Trijp (105.23) also succeeded.
