Anderson aiming for more progression after World Championship final defeat: "I came in here with no expectations whatsoever"

Gary Anderson lost out in the final of the 2020/21 PDC World Darts Championship to Gerwyn Price but despite not becoming three-time World Champion, there was cause for optimism for 'The Flying Scotsman'.

Anderson spoke afterwards and admitted that his game wasn't there in certain aspects but that he now has focus to get back towards the top.

"I could not get up to that treble 20 whatsoever, I think if I would have stepped back I would have still missed it but no dropping low, doubles were miles off but not even close," said Anderson post match.

"Not like Van Gerwen, he would have nailed that bang he's a killer but Gerwyn wanted it quite a lot there so he was starting to miss a few at the end there."

"I'm going to start back. I came in here with no expectations whatsoever, made it to the final. Gerwyn had a walkover but this year I'm looking forward."
