Nathan Aspinall has admitted he doesn't really think about defending his prize money from his 2019
UK Open win this weekend in a recent pre season interview with the Darts Show podcast.
Aspinall spoke before the Super Series about changing his darts and this paid off with multiple runs to the latter stages.
"Practice wise, I've been playing really well. It's been quite well stated that I've got new darts and I've got new equipment. I feel really comfortable with them," said Aspinall to The Darts Show podcast.
"I was hitting so many 20's above the wire and they are a different shape so I thought with that extra gram and a bit, they might start dropping in and they have been doing.
"I'm at the end of my tether, I can't wait to get back. I've got new darts, I've got a new attitude. Hopefully come away with a title and keep going up the rankings."
But speaking on defending that money, his attitude is that it puts too much pressure on if it's all that occupies his mind.
"There's other people in the same situation as me. I think the only difference is that mine is the first TV major of the year that I'm defending.
"But I think if you start looking into that, problems are going to start coming and you put too much pressure on yourself. As long as I win it, nothing happens does it."
