Bradley Brooks produced a stand out display on the opening day edging out Adrian Lewis 6-5 as the
Hungarian Darts Trophy began.
Brooks survived a comeback from 4-2 down being taken to a deciding leg and after Lewis missed four darts for victory, it gave him a reprieve which he took.
"I watched Adrian growing up and he's a great player," said Brooks post match.
"It was a great game and I enjoyed it, and it made it better to be playing in front of a crowd again."
