Stephen Bunting came from a set down to see off Andy Boulton and win through to the Third Round of the PDC World Darts Championship with a tie against James Wade awaiting for 'The Bullet'.
Bunting spoke about his mindset towards the end and admitted that he was going through a myriad of issues including a twitch in his eye.
"Halfway through that match I thought I was gone, nothing was going right. I had a twitch in my eye, it was a crazy game just all of a sudden I started to hit big scores and when he got it to 2-2, I said dig deep here and I started with a 177 and the rest is history," said Bunting post match.
The St Helens ace had to miss the World Grand Prix due to Coronavirus which of course has had an effect on his ranking and speaking on that, he said that discussions have been had with the PDC about it.
"I was there, I was ready to play. Luckily for me, I had no symptoms. Listen to everyone out there listening, Covid is real. It effects every person different but just stay at home, stay safe. Lucky for me, I had no symptoms. I was sat at home on a beanbag playing PlayStation."
"Thankfully I'm over that now, I'd like to think I'm less susceptible to catching it again and that makes me confident to push on and move forward."
"It's an unseen event, it's not like you pull out for illness, it's a pandemic. We spoke about it and obviously lessons need to be learnt."
Also in terms of missed prize money, he wouldn't be drawn on whether or not he thinks he should have received it. "It's down to them. If they believe that's the way forward, then that's the way."
