The seventh
Players Championship of the year was completed yesterday in Leicester. The overall victory there went to Chris Dobey, who was too strong for Josh Rock in the final 8-4.
It has already been a good year for
Stephen Bunting, including a win at the Masters. At the seventh Players Championship, he eventually stranded at the last 32 after a 6-5 defeat to Ross Smith. Still, Bunting realized a remarkable feat. In the opening round, he defeated Joshua Richardson 6-0, marking the 20th time he managed to win from his opponent with a so-called "whitewash" on the
Pro Tour.
Incidentally, only 14 players in history have won more often than Bunting by a 6-0 score.
