Clayton into quarter-finals for first time at World Matchplay: "Against Dimitri I had to perform and I did"

Jonny Clayton has made it into the quarterfinals of the World Matchplay for the first time in his career. 'The Ferret' defeated Dimitri Van den Bergh 11-6 in the second round.
Clayton had never advanced beyond the second round in five previous appearances at the World Matchplay. "It's never been kind to me here. It's and iconic venue, one which I love, but for some reason I just can't perform," Clayton said.
"When I know I'm playing well I have to get that point in," he says with a smile. "Against Dimitri I had to perform, and I did so I've a smile on my face and I'm through to the next round."
Problems
Clayton, however, is not having an easy time at the moment. "I've got problems at home so it's been hard, very difficult but I'm here to do a job and I'm trying my best to do that."

- Given how exciting this Grand Prix was, is there an argument that more top tournaments should have the double-start double-finish format? As a darts fan, I love to see lesser-known players excelling on the world stage and going deep into tournaments.
