Clemens experiences recurring problem: ''Losing too many games I should have won''

Gabriel Clemens' performance last weekend in front of his own crowd in Leverkusen at the European Darts Open was limited to just one match.

Despite a 5-2 lead in his first-round match against Ian White, he lost 6-5. A recurring story for 'The German Giant' this year, he noted himself afterwards.

''Unfortunately, it was not enough to win the match. I lose too many matches I should have won, despite managing to throw a high average. I come up just a little short each time. I will keep working on myself together with my whole team to get that little bit back on my side."

The semi-finalist of the last World Darts Championship did express his gratitude for the expressions of support from the German crowd during the match. ''Thank you for the support. For 15 minutes my name was heard and that was absolutely amazing. It still gives me goosebumps.''
