James Wade couldn't repeat the feat from the Nordic Darts Masters losing to Michael van Gerwen with relative ease on
Premier League Darts Finals Night who went on to be crowned champion.
Speaking after the defeat, Wade said that conditions didn't favour him and that he wasn't given as much help backstage pre-game compared to the eventual winner.
"Unfortunately I wasn't good enough but it is what is. There was many other things attributing to the game but it is what it is," he said to SportNieuws.
"I think that there was a lot of things that went on backstage that didn't favour me but I can't talk too much about it. Michael had a lot more help backstage rather than I did but he was the better player, he was far better than me."
