Rob Cross recently took part in the Autocomplete Challenge on the PDC's YouTube channel which asks the most wanted questions from fans and from search engines.
One of the questions was whether Cross knew he was always good with 'Voltage' of course starting his career late compared to others.
"I always knew I was good. Wherever I went, I could do things that other people couldn't do. It's still stretching the imagination to get up on the big stage and be able to do it. It was scary I suppose, I didn't want to take that commitment and then fall flat on my face," he said to the PDC.
He used to be an electrician and he spoke about how his previous life was before he ended up becoming a professional darts player.
"I enjoyed it, I had a purpose everyday. I used to get up when I was working in London at half past four in the morning. Get home at 5:30, walk straight back in and used to go and play Super League on a Wednesday. The missus must have loved me."
There is also the debate always with Cross about his pause before he hits a double and he spoke of the origins of that.
"I've played since late 11 and I hit 13 and I was decent I could throw a steady leg. Played on the county youth system a little bit, I was noticing myself on stage and when I was under pressure and when I felt it a little bit, I always used to rush at the doubles and I always used to miss them.
"Then I thought to myself do you know what if I can just relax myself and just take a step back and recompose myself so the idea is when I throw that dart, it comes out of my hand smooth."
"I used to have such a tendancy when I was younger to rush things. Anyone would think I sweat like anything, there's nothing. It's because I drink so much water on stage."
