Rob Cross had an intermittent 2020 with the former World Champion heading out of the showpiece event at the first hurdle to Dirk van Duijvenbode.
But instead of looking back, Cross is looking forward ahead of the Masters and can't wait to be back in action as he admits that he is in the best 'frame of mind' he has been in for some time.
"I think the break has helped me. Usually I'd have time off and spend three or four weeks not doing much but this year I've decided to stay on top of myself and get my game back to where it needs to be," said Cross to the PDC.
"I've decided to practice more than ever. I suppose I do it at my own luxury now. Where I struggled last year, I struggled with a routine just to try and practice there was a lot going on at home and I'd probably say if my problems were laid out, they were at home, they wasn't at darts."
He discussed the World Championship and admitted that while it was a bump in the road, he can't wait to return to the stage.
"I've sort of got over that now, I'm looking forward to having a good year and getting back to it really."
"When I feel great, I seem to play great or do anything great but when it goes a little bit sideways, I think I can get tapped on my heels and sort of don't know how to move forward. But I seem to have sorted that now, I'm being honest you this is the best frame of mind I've been in for months."
