Danny Noppert has reached the quarterfinals of a Euro Tour tournament for the fourth time this year. With a 6-2 victory over Franz Roetzsch, he joined the last eight at the
Baltic Sea Darts Open.
Noppert rewarded himself after a good start with an early break. After winning the first leg via a 14-darter, it was 2-0 with a 116 finish. After Roetzsch missed three chances to halve the deficit, it was 3-0 via double 10. In the fourth leg, Roetzsch got on the scoreboard after all with a 14-darter.
A 12-darter then produced a 4-1 lead for Noppert. Roetzsch then threw out 78 to secure his second leg, before Noppert also threw out 78 himself to make it 5-2. Noppert then sealed the match with a 15-darter. Noppert had a good average of 96.64 and a finishing percentage of 67 percent.
Against
Mike de Decker, Noppert will have the chance to reach the last four on the Euro Tour for the first time this year, as on the previous three occasions the quarter-finals were also directly the finish line.
De Decker reached the last eight of a Euro Tour tournament for the second time in his career. The Belgian did so with an excellent 6-2 victory over Damon Heta. The Belgian broke ahead by producing a 170 finish in the third leg and then ran out to a 5-1 lead. Heta then managed to take one more leg, after which De Decker decided the match with a 17-darter.
