Danny Noppert holds record for highest average of local players at World Series of Darts tournaments

This weekend the US Darts Masters took place in New York. This is a tournament of the World Series of Darts. In the end, Rob Cross took the title with victory over Gerwyn Price in the final at Madison Square Garden.

The World Series of Darts was first organized in 2013 with the intention of making darts more popular around the world. At each tournament, some of the PDC's top players traditionally take on some local players in the first round. This weekend in New York, for example, the players facing off against the PDC's elite were all Americans and Canadians.

The highest average of those local players over all the years of the World Series of Darts came in the name of Danny Noppert. 'The Freeze' played a total of two round of 16 matches at the World Series of Darts, both of which he won by the way, posting an average of 96.89.
