Luke Littler took the title and crowned himself the Premier League Darts champion last week,  in his debut campaign. For this final victory, he received a check worth 275,000 pounds. The Nuke couldn't quite add the US Darts Masters to his growing collection however.
Because of all the bonus prize money he'd built up, the full total of the 17-year-old Englishman's earnings were over 300,000 pounds. “None of it went to FIFA points," Littler laughs in quotes collected by TalkSport. Nevertheless, being a big gamer, there was something Littler had been eyeing up. "But I did buy a Nintendo Switch, which I have brought away with me to have a bit of fun. Usually we are sat in the hotel rooms waiting for the next day to play. We did some sight-seeing this week. I came back, chilled out and played on the Switch."
Littler was in action this weekend at the US Darts Masters, where he lost 7-6 to Gerwyn Price in a semi-final thriller. Still, despite not taking overall victory, he says he enjoyed his stay in New York, where he was invited to visit WWE, Bleacher Report and got to play at the iconic Madison Square Garden among other things of note during his time in the Big Apple.
"I felt good and couldn’t wait to get out there," he said. "The amount of the athletes that have performed here is amazing. I enjoyed that walk-on. The crowd got involved with it. It has been crazy out here. But it’s a good thing as the darts get more recognisable outside of the UK and other countries."
Inspired by his visit to the WWE, Littler changed up his walk on music to the traditional song of WWE champion Cody Rhodes, Downstait's anthem Kingdom. Whether that's a permanent switch or the more usual Greenlight by Pitbull will return for Littler remains to be seen however.
