Danny Noppert reaches quarter-finals at European Darts Championship after fine comeback against Rob Cross

Danny Noppert has advanced to the last eight at the European Darts Championship in Dortmund. 'The Freeze' showed resilience after falling behind defeated former world champion Rob Cross 10-7.
After a shaky start to the match, the match was still tied after ten legs, as both players went into intermission at 5-5. Cross managed to force a break immediately after the break after Noppert was not out within six darts. 'Voltage' then held throw with a 14-darter to lead 7-5.

However, Cross was then twice not out within five visits, giving Noppert the opportunity to come back to 7-7. Suddenly the turbo went on for the Dutchman, as he took over the lead from Cross with a 96 finish. A 12-darter then brought the darter from Joure even at 9-7.
Noppert then had throw to seal it. Cross was waiting on 36, but it was Noppert who managed to hit 80 for a spot in the quarter-finals of the European Championship.
