Chris Dobey saw off John O'Shea to set up a second round meeting with Michael van Gerwen on Saturday afternoon at the
German Darts Grand Prix.
Dobey spoke afterwards and was pleased to get through and also get past a 30-dart leg which he said still comes out sometimes in the pub.
"I felt I settled into the game pretty well at the start, obviously I thought to go for the 161 to give us that little boost that I needed but the same happened against Karel (Sedlacek). I was just happy to get a leg from the last leg I played, that one leg kills us every time," he said on stage post match.
"I still do that back home playing in the pub so why can't I do it on here. I've been playing some good stuff obviously bump into players in form, that's the way my luck goes at the moment. If I keep playing the way I am then the results will follow.
Next up is Michael van Gerwen and Dobey has his eyes on a first scalp.
"Why not, I've played him numerous times still yet to beat him so why can't I do it in front of a great crowd in Munich."
