On Tuesday and Wednesday, qualifying tournaments will be played in Hildesheim, Germany, to determine who will be the final six participants in the PDC Europe Super League, formerly known as the German Super League.
Through this, 24 German darters have a chance to participate in the World Darts Championship. On Tuesday, Dominik Gruellich and Michael Kloenhammer managed to get through the qualifying tournament.
Gruellich became the winner of the first qualifier. The 21-year-old darter won in the final over Andree Welge, a veteran who played once at Lakeside and five times at the PDC World Championship in the past. Kloenhammer managed to win the second qualifying tournament. Markus Kessler was the defeated player this time.
Two more qualifying tournaments will be played on Wednesday, with these winners also qualifying for the final tournament. The two best performing players split over the two qualifying days will also receive an invitation.
The PDC Europe Super League will take place from November 7 to 10. Participants include Max Hopp, Dragutin Horvat, Rene Eidams, Lukas Wenig, Liam Maendl-Lawrance, Nico Kurz, Daniel Klose and Pascal Rupprecht.
